(DELAY) New Covenant Group for Men

(DELAY) New Covenant Group for Men

To act with caution and allow Covid infection rates to recede (we hope), the start of the Men’s Gathering Covenant Group will be delayed a couple weeks.

Our first meeting will be Tuesday, February 15, 6:30-8:30pm in the sanctuary. We will gather in person, and adhere to the relevant church guidelines. Subsequent Tuesday meetings will be March 1 & 15, April 5 & 19 and May 3.

People committed to participating in the group will hear from us before the 1st meeting when we’ll email a prompt, a quotation, or a question for your consideration.

Contact George or Tom with questions at gatherings@hvuuc.org

New Covenant Group for Men

New Covenant Group for Men

George Cross and Tom Burns are starting a Covenant Group for men beginning Feb. 1 and meeting for 6 sessions, scheduled the 1st & 3rd Tuesdays in February, March, and April.

Our general theme is social justice, but our process will focus on personal experiences, our own complicity in various problems, but also our evolution in awareness and change--including resistance to change--around social justice issues.

REMINDER! Stewardship Committee Volunteers Needed

REMINDER! Stewardship Committee Volunteers Needed

The Stewardship Committee needs volunteers to help plan and execute the Stewardship Campaign for the spring. This is an opportunity to facilitate a critical process for the church. The tasks primarily involve communications to promote congregant involvement, such as distributing pledge cards, follow up by phone/email, and contributing to announcement design.

The peak activity is January through March, with most time spent in preparation and follow up. For more information and to volunteer, please contact Charlie at stewardship@hvuuc.org

MLK Weekend Events

MLK Weekend Events

There is so much happening this Martin Luther King Weekend! We hope you can make this more a "day on" than a "day off," where we honor the spirit of Rev. Dr. King's work by continuing it!

Holston Valley Unitarian Universalist Church will be officially participating in three events. Look for our HVUUC banner and walk with us! Feel free to join us for one, two or all three events, and if you’d like you can bring posters of support for peace and justice.
