Support Black Businesses

Support Black Businesses

One way to be an ally with our black brothers and sisters is to support black-owned businesses.

The Social Justice Committee is dedicating the first quarter of 2022 to Undoing Systemic White Supremacy. One way to be an ally to our black neighbors is to support their businesses. Here is a handy list to help you.

Stewardship Committee Volunteers Needed

Stewardship Committee Volunteers Needed

The Stewardship Committee needs volunteers to help plan and execute the Stewardship Campaign for the spring. This is an opportunity to facilitate a critical process for the church. The tasks primarily involve communications to promote congregant involvement, such as distributing pledge cards, follow up by phone/email, and contributing to announcement design.

The peak activity is January through March, with most time spent in preparation and follow up. For more information and to volunteer, please contact Charlie at stewardship@hvuuc.org

Pancakes and Jam 2021

Pancakes and Jam 2021

Our beloved community event, Pancakes with Jam, will be live on Zoom this year, December 26th, and will be a combination of live performances and some pre-recorded videos.

We can all make pancakes for ourselves on December 26th, and enjoy them from the comfort of home, while we watch our community of performers - of all levels and ages - share their talents with each other. Start working on your contribution now! Engage your family or budding young talent in your family!

Reflections on Gratitude and Grief

Reflections on Gratitude and Grief

Join us on December 5th at 3pm to reflect not just on Gratitude, but also how Gratitude interweaves with Grief at a very special gathering across all faith communities. United Religions Initiative - Northeast Tennessee Cooperation Circle has traditionally hosted an in-person community Gratitude Dinner. This will be the second year in a row that URI NE-TN will be holding our “Gratitude Dinner” on Zoom due to concerns around Covid-19 transmission.
