On Wednesday February 16th, 2022, Holston Valley Unitarian Universalist Church's Board of Trustees voted to approve a new Covid Response Plan recommended by the Reopening Task Force.
These changes reflect new recommendations issued by the Unitarian Universalist Association on January 21st, and our desire to give our congregation members more choices as people's risk tolerances and safety needs vary widely during this phase of the pandemic.

Food City and Ingles grocery cards are available and can me mailed or delivered to you!
We will happily accommodate your needs so that we can continue to generate a wee bit of income for the church. If you are interested, please email grocerycards@hvuuc.org for more information.
Thank you for continuing to participate!
Youth Conventions or โCONsโ are weekend long events planned by youth with adult support for youth from third grade to high school. At heart, a youth con is an experience in building covenantal community and empowering youth leadership.
Supported by the larger work of The Mountain, each con has a different theme and focus, but they all incorporate community building, fun, worship, and exploration of spirituality. Each event has its own covenant and is in covenant with The Mountainโs safety policies. Youth experience both the safety of being in a covenantal community and the responsibility to repair relationships when difficult situations arise.
Youth have the opportunity to serve in leadership roles to help plan events, help run events, help the CON community live in covenant, or be peer chaplains for emotional support.

There's been a little confusion about submitting info for the newsletter.
The forms on our website called "news" and "events" are for submitting items to be published under the โCongregational Newsโ and โFeatured Eventsโ sections of our website hvuuc.org. These forms are not for submitting information to our monthly newsletter.
However, if you'd like the info submitted on these forms to also be included in our newsletter be sure to say so in the "note to office" section of the form. Otherwise it will only be published to the website.
To share information for the monthly newsletter, email our office administrator Jessica at newsletter@hvuuc.org .
We hope this clarification helps! If you have further questions email office@hvuuc.org.

To act with caution and allow Covid infection rates to recede (we hope), the start of the Menโs Gathering Covenant Group will be delayed a couple weeks.
Our first meeting will be Tuesday, February 15, 6:30-8:30pm in the sanctuary. We will gather in person, and adhere to the relevant church guidelines. Subsequent Tuesday meetings will be March 1 & 15, April 5 & 19 and May 3.

George Cross and Tom Burns are starting a Covenant Group for men beginning Feb. 1 and meeting for 6 sessions, scheduled the 1st & 3rd Tuesdays in February, March, and April.
Our general theme is social justice, but our process will focus on personal experiences, our own complicity in various problems, but also our evolution in awareness and change--including resistance to change--around social justice issues.
Join Rev. Tiffany and your church leadership for Listening Circles.
This is a facilitated experience designed to allow all attendees to speak and listen to each other in an atmosphere of safety and equality. We want to hear from you about our pandemic responses and your understanding about how we live our vision. Your thoughts and your story are welcome here. Share where youโre at without worries about cross-talk or judgement.
You can find full details and the link to register at the event page by clicking here.
