Reproductive Rights March in Bristol this Saturday

On May 1, the UUA released the following statement:

"We are heartbroken and outraged that it appears the Supreme Court is poised to overturn nearly five decades of precedent to take rights away from pregnant people. And we greatly fear that this decision will justify efforts to further limit the rights of women and other vulnerable populations in this country.
As a faith tradition, we are committed to #ReproductiveJustice, which affirms the human right to have children, not to have children, to parent the children one has in healthy environments to safeguard bodily autonomy, and to express one's sexuality freely.
Our faith still urgently calls us to advocate on behalf of all people to be able to readily access safe, legal abortion care whenever and wherever they need it. We will not rest until that reality is true across the country."

This Saturday May 14th, Rev. Tiffany will be joining with some of our Social Justice Team, and the Women's March to raise our own voices about this important issue.

If you would like to join us, we will be meeting at State Street at the Bristol VA/TN Slogan sign at 12:30, or at the church at 11:45 to carpool. Please email us at showup@hvuuc.org to let us know if you're coming.
