A new coordinator is needed for our church’s quarterly volunteer involvement with Family Promise (formerly known as Interfaith Hospitality Network) at the Hopwood Church on the Milligan Highway. Family Promise helps families get back on their feet by providing shelter, food, and transportation.
We help out overnight 4 times a year. Our next turn is Labor Day, and this one is covered, but it would be a good opportunity to get a feel for what is involved.
The coordinator is responsible for getting a volunteer for grocery shopping (we always make tacos and the shopping list is already written), two-three volunteers to cook the tacos, and two volunteers to stay overnight for each of our quarterly commitments. The first time the new coordinator would need to secure these volunteers is in early December.
