RE Classes this year: PreK-2nd grade, 3rd-5th grade, and Jr/Sr Youth (6th-12th grade).
All children must be potty trained to participate in Religious Education. We do have childcare available in our nursery for those not quite old enough for R.E.
9:30AM Adult RE 1 - Native Americans of South America. Meet in the Meditation Hall, 2nd floor of the Religious Education building.
9:30AM Adult RE 2 - From September 8 through October 13th, Adult RE 2 will be working through a 6 week session titled, Parents and Guardians As Spiritual Guides, which brings spiritual growth into the home, where the communion and rituals of family life can support the dynamic process of faith development.
11:00AM Worship Service: “Connecting in Spite of Religious Difference”, Jodi Jones
This sermon will be about the challenges of facing religious differences as a parent and community leader. When to speak up and when to settle in? I will speak to the balance I have found and the hope I have going forward.
Jodi has a few different names. She is Dr. Polaha at work, where she is a psychologist who researches the best way to get mental health services to lots of people. She is Jodi Jones in the community, where she has been elected to be a Washington County Commissioner. At home, she is "Mom" to her sons and "Pippet" to her husband, where she is the person who remembers ALL THE THINGS and is always planning some kind of new family adventure.
5th Sunday Collection - Each month that has a 5th Sunday we take up an extra collection for a Social Justice cause. This month we are collecting for the Appalachian Resource Conservation & Development Council.

5:15PM Yoga with Tish - If you would like to try Yoga to help improve your core strength, balance, and ability to relax, please join a small group that meets in the Meditation Room in the RE building on Tuesday evenings from 5:15 - 6:30PM.

6:30PM Women’s Group - This month we’ll meet at Dana Y. home in Jonesborough. Bring the usual drink/snack to share. Her address can be found in the church directory. See the Members Area of our website or contact womensgroup@hvuuc.org. Dana cautions people to be careful because if they put her address in their GPS sometimes it sends you to Erwin. She is four miles off Interstate 81 toward Jonesboro and 10 miles from Jonesboro coming toward Fall Branch.
