This year's Water Communion, on September 10th, will be focusing on our connection to our local waterways. On that same day, we have the opportunity to participate in a South Holston Lake Cleanup. How amazing could it be, to make a connection to our waterways during the service, and then go from there to actually serve our waterways?

There are 30 spots available, and that's for the entire community, not just our church, so if you're interested, sign up quickly!

Cleanup is on Sept 10 from 2pm to 5:30pm at South Holston Lake, meeting at the Washington County Park Boat Ramp in Abingdon, VA. We can carpool from the church if we leave by 1:15pm. Prepare to ride in a boat, wear messy clothes, and WORK. The organizer for the event says "children need to be at least school-aged, be able to listen and follow safety instructions, and be supervised." So school-aged children are able to attend, but will have a lot expected of them, so have a good talk with them before signing them up.
