Peace Walk and Blessing of the Waters

HVUUC Social Justice PeaceWorks Focus Group invites YOU to join us for a PEACE WALK along the Linear Trail in Erwin, Tennessee to commemorate Nuclear Prayer Day – the 78th anniversary of the human tragedy of Hiroshima.

The walk is being organized by the Appalachian Peace Education Center and United Religions Initiative together with other area groups.

We will be:

  • Praying in solidarity with others around the globe for a world free of nuclear weapons

  • Commemorating the 75th anniversary of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima, declaring NEVER AGAIN!

  • Offering interfaith blessings for the waters of the Nolichucky River - Rev Tiffany will be offering blessings

  • Raising awareness of the threats of nuclear weapons

  • Sing about the love between my brothers & sisters all over this land.

ALL WELCOME! Bring a Song, Prayer or Blessing; water and umbrella!
