Our Social Justice PeaceWorks Focus Group is joining other area peace groups for a day-trip to the Peace Pentagon in Independence, Virginia on Saturday, July 15. We invite you to join us for a wonderful day of peacemaking at the Oracle Institute campus. www.PeacePentagon.net

UU Churches from Grayson County VA and Raleigh, NC will be in attendance and a large contingency of young adults are coming from New River UU in Blacksburg, VA.

The day will include a tour of the Oracle Institute’ 22-acre campus & Turtle Island Labyrinth starting at 10:30, followed by a Potluck Picnic Cookout (Beef & Veggie burgers and drinks provided).

In the afternoon, participants will create a Sacred Fire & and participate in a World Peace Flag Ceremony at Peace Pole led by Fumi Johns-Stewart, Executive Director of May Peace Prevail on Earth. Following those activities, we will have a discussion of the “Peace on Earth Game” lead by Oracle Institute Founder Laura George.

The afternoon will conclude about 5:00pm with a Water Blessing at the New River – the oldest river in the Western Hemisphere.

Event Donation: $10.00. Please bring a covered dish to share for Potluck Lunch.

Onsite/Overnight camping & cabins are available for an extra charge on first-come first-serve basis.
