We are excited to present the ETSU Chorale under the direction of Dr. Matthew Potterton again this year at our service on Sunday, November 3rd. Dr. Potterton will be asking for a free will offering to help raise money to participate in one of the world’s most exciting choir competitions in Bratislava. They will compete against choirs from all over the world and are hoping to bring back top prizes. The students have to pay their own way, and they are fundraising to help get everyone to go. Trips like these are life changing. Dr Potterton explains: "As a college student, my choir participated in a similar competition and I remember socializing with choirs from all over the world. One that we really befriended was from Iran. At the time, our government’s relations with Iran were even worse than they are now. But no one from our group or their group cared about that. We sang together and socialized together in peace. I can’t wait to give my students this experience."
