Rebecca Rowe Alom Memorial Service this Sunday

On Tuesday November 15th 2022 long time member Rebecca Rowe Alom peacefully passed away. This Sunday, November 20th, Rebecca’s family, friends, and church community are invited to gather here at Holston Valley Unitarian Universalist Church at 2:00PM for her Celebration of Life.

Reception will follow.

Rebecca was known by those who loved her as a woman of science who marched for social justice before illness limited her mobility. Come gather with us to celebrate the life of this extraordinary woman.

Masks optional.

Food Needed for Auction

Food Needed for Auction

We will be in-person!!!! After three years, the annual auction will be in-person. As in the past, there is a lot of excitement about the auction, including looking forward to finger foods/hor d'oeuvres and beverages to sustain us through the evening.

If you plan to attend, please consider bringing food to share. Most appreciated is food that doesn't require eating utensils. The planning group will provide non-alcoholic beverages and wine, as well as napkins and plates. Please email auction@hvuuc if you have questions. Thank you in advance for contributing!

We also still need product and service donations for the auction and it’s not too late to add donations. Use the link below to contribute. https://auctria.events/2022HVUUCauction

Proposed Changes to UUA'S Article II

Proposed Changes to UUA'S Article II

Friends, this month's newsletter article is a little complex, and is about potential changes proposed for the Unitarian Universalist Association's organizing documents. While I will be addressing this proposal in more detail from the pulpit at a later date, the Article II Study Commission is offering a series of feedback sessions in November that you may want to participate in, so I wanted to make you aware of this proposal in time to participate in these upcoming sessions.
