Church Picnic Ukulele Sing Along

The NUTs group will be hosting a sing-along at the church picnic on Saturday, August 22nd between 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 in the sanctuary. Everyone is encouraged to bring their ukulele and their voice and sing along.

Fifth Sunday August 30th

Kitchen of Hope in Kingsport is this month’s Fifth Sunday offering recipient. The Kitchen of Hope, where teams from various local organizations prepare and serve meals to anyone who needs them, has been operating since 1998. Everyone is welcome. On average, the kitchen serves 153 meals per day.

If you would like to contribute, please place your gift in the envelope included in the bulletin on Sunday morning August 30th. If you cannot attend that Sunday but would like to participate, you can give electronically through our website at https://hvuuc.org/donate. Designate in the instructions that your contribution is for the “Fifth Sunday” collection. This option will be available August 23rd through September 6th.

You may have heard...

…we had a minor break-in at the church in July. The perpetrator damaged two doors and stole petty cash and old keys from the office. The minister’s and DRE’s offices were untouched.

This incident was reported to police. Facilities Trustee Greg K had the locks changed and updated the security code.

If you need access to the church please email facilities@hvuuc.org.

Please discard old church keys.

The Reopening Task Force proposed and the Board approved these responsible guidelines. They are based on advice and data from the CDC, the WHO, and local health departments as well as UU Principles and values. The UUA encourages us to be compassionate and plan in such a way as to include the most people safely, and that is what we are seeking to do.
