Reopening--Things to Think About

As the Reopening Task Force works on metrics and guidelines for reopening HVUUC, we thought it might be helpful for everyone to see some of the things we are taking into account. Today we are sharing some guidance from the Unitarian Universalist Association about “Covenantal Consent” and how the way we reopen reflects our values as UUs.

Here are links to two articles that explain some of the framework we are using as we develop recommendations for the church.

Soap Box Sunday Service

Soap Box Sunday Service

"Soapbox Sunday" has become a tradition in many congregations. In this special service, members and friends exercise their right to free speech and "get up on their soapbox" to tell us something about which they are concerned or passionate. Topics can span a broad spectrum, as some past examples show: Palm Oil - Unintentional Harm to the Environment; The Limits of Love and Peace; Infringement of church-state separation; etc.
