Church Picnic Ukulele Sing Along

The NUTs group will be hosting a sing-along at the church picnic on Saturday, August 22nd between 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 in the sanctuary. Everyone is encouraged to bring their ukulele and their voice and sing along.

Fifth Sunday August 30th

Kitchen of Hope in Kingsport is this month’s Fifth Sunday offering recipient. The Kitchen of Hope, where teams from various local organizations prepare and serve meals to anyone who needs them, has been operating since 1998. Everyone is welcome. On average, the kitchen serves 153 meals per day.

If you would like to contribute, please place your gift in the envelope included in the bulletin on Sunday morning August 30th. If you cannot attend that Sunday but would like to participate, you can give electronically through our website at https://hvuuc.org/donate. Designate in the instructions that your contribution is for the “Fifth Sunday” collection. This option will be available August 23rd through September 6th.

If you attend, you’ll see many of your favorite professors in short prerecorded video lessons and you’ll receive a kit with everything you need for 15 classes!

Want to finish everything in 2 days? Give it a try!

Want to savor the lessons for 2 months? That’s fine, too!

The subscriptions kits will include supplies for wand-making, divination, transfiguration, music, defense against the dark arts, and more!

Updated 2021-22 Proposed Budget

In light of recent pledges and some corrections, the Board of Trustees presents a corrected proposed 2021-22 budget.

Please note these changes:

  • Increase in pledges by $1,223

  • Accounting for the pastoral expense to transition in August instead of June: increased expense of $2,914

  • An additional copyright license for using music in our online services: increased expense of $485
