Honor the Dark

As winter solstice approaches, we explore the metaphors of darkness and light, and see what they both have to offer us. Metaphor is one of the important ways that we build meaning and symbolism into our lives, and may have a bigger impact than we intended. What have been the unintended consequences of associating "dark" with "evil," and how can we adjust our metaphorical language to hold a more expansive view of the human experience?
