We spent the summer exploring together, preparing, adjusting, listening, and dreaming—and now our regular Religious Exploration year begins!
I hope this little delay in starting offered the time and space needed to settle back into the groove of life. I am so grateful that, among all the places your time and energy could go, you have chosen to create space for RE.
And how beautifully fitting that our youth are literally leading us into this new year!

🎤 Youth-Led Service This Sunday!
Our youth class and Youth Group have been working with Rev. Tiffany to create a completely youth-led worship service, and this Sunday we finally get to experience what they’ve created!
Youth participating in RE: Meet in the Sanctuary at 9:30 AM for rehearsal rather than going to the regular RE space.
We still have several positions available for youth who would like to participate in the service!

🌱 Teacher Commissioning
Teacher Commissioning will take place during worship as our congregation blesses the
facilitators and the many explorative journeys beginning throughout Religious Exploration this
year.
🌿 Path to Membership
Sunday, September 13 | 1:00–4:00 PM
Curious about Unitarian Universalism or interested in becoming more connected at HVUUC?
Path to Membership will be held after church and potluck this Sunday. The class is for anyone
who wants to learn more about Unitarian Universalism and our church community.
Attending doesn't mean you have to become a member, but completion of the class is required
if you'd like to become a voting member.
📦 Small Boxes Needed!
Our K–5 Mindfulness Passport explorers have a project coming up, and we need your small
boxes!
We’re looking for small flip-top boxes, such as dryer sheet boxes, as well as small gift boxes
or similarly sized sturdy boxes.
Donations can be left at Jess's office door or in the REZ lobby with a note. Thank you!

● Katie & Tazley for helping create our Wonder Worship experience around The Value of
Interdependence!
● Tazley for being such an uplifting Wonder Worship leader this Sunday!
● Brooklyn for stepping in to help transition Wonder Worship to and from the
Sanctuary—and for leading the remainder of our All-Ages RE deck celebration!
● Mary for sharing the Nursery with Wonder Worship as we navigated some last-minute
scheduling shifts.
● Everyone who joined our All-Ages RE celebration and helped clean up afterward.
● Erin, Rosemary & Donnie for being so flexible during our internet adventures on August
30! The service somehow became even more engaging and joyful than it would have
been with everything going according to plan.
● Emi & Byron for chaperoning an incredible Youth Group trip to Wilderness at the
Smokies!
● Alex & Peyton, who stepped into vital roles during the August 30 service and helped
make it even more impactful.
