💜 A Note from the DRE
We've stepped fully into the beautiful colors and crisp weather of autumn! I have absolutely had something pumpkin spice once or twice daily 😆, and I find myself already imagining the sound of crunchy leaves under my feet as I walk. Soon it will be so!
What a month we have ahead of us—filled with fun, festivals, costumes, candy, connection, and so much more.
As we move through all the excitement, may we step into each day with the intention of presence—giving ourselves the chance to really be in these fun-filled moments while they're here.
May we notice the crisp air, savor the sweetness, laugh loudly, and soak up as much of this beautiful season as we can. 🍂

🗣️More Than Words: Pronouns Workshop

Alesha and Jess Ox will be hosting a Pronouns Workshop designed to be useful, welcoming, and responsive to the actual questions and experiences within our community.
Pronouns may be small words, but they can carry a whole lot of meaning—and sometimes, a little curiosity can open the door to a whole lot more understanding.
More Than Words is an interactive workshop for anyone who wants to better understand pronouns and explore how the words we choose can help people feel seen, respected, and affirmed.
Whether pronouns are something you know a lot about, something you're still figuring out, or something you simply want to understand better, there is a place for you in the conversation.

Trunk or Treat is coming to HVUUC! 🎃🚗
Start dreaming up those costumes—and those decorated trunks! Anyone who signs up to decorate a vehicle is automatically entered in our Trunk Decorating Contest, complete with prizes and plenty of Halloween fun.

💜 Gratitudes Across the Bridge
A whole lot of gratitude this week for:
● Kita & Lee — for chatting about perspectives with our 6–12 class and really letting our youth dive into their own genius around it.
● Betty — for leading Adult 2 in discussions around covenant and values.
● Cyndi & Greg — for leading our younger UUs in K–5 through a lesson on curiosity and the freedom to pursue knowledge.
● Brooklynn — for being our RE go-to while I was out of town.
● Tazley & Beth — for leading Wonder Worship and being flexible and adaptive through surprise shifts!
● Everyone who has donated boxes for our K–5 Zen Garden project, registered for Nursery and classes, and joined us in conversation and community throughout the HVUUC Religious Exploration program.
You are all amazing, and I truly appreciate having the opportunity to serve alongside you!
