Spiritual Practice - A new Adult Religious Education curriculum!

Spiritual Practice - A new Adult Religious Education curriculum!

There has been wide interest in Adult RE offerings while we remain physically distanced. Sarah White has acquired a new curriculum that is adaptable to the Zoom platform.

Spiritual Practice is a 12-session course designed to help participants develop their spiritual lives through daily practice, weekly worship, monthly service, yearly retreat, and one-time pilgrimage. The structure of these classes is a mixture of direct experience and instruction. Debate and discussion is not a focus of these sessions. Supporting material is provided for participants to take home to deepen their practice. Where possible, spiritual practices should be demonstrated and experienced in the session. Each session includes the following structural elements:

  • •Introductions and Check-in

  • •Ministers, via video, will introduce the concept and why it matters

  • •Facilitators provide direct instruction and demonstrate the practice

  • •Participants experience the practice or engage in an activity•Participants are given time to plan and work the practice into their lives

  • •Participants walk away with an action plan
