Dear Holston Valley Unitarian Universalist Church Family and Friends,
We need your help!
We are working diligently to help us all remain in fellowship intentionally and safely during this pandemic. We have considered guidelines from the UUA, CDC and TN Health officials, and we carefully reexamine the plan at every Board meeting.
We took our first steps toward regathering when we opened church spaces to small groups (10 or fewer, using strict health and safety precautions) on May 30. That has been going very well. We’re not planning to rush anything, but are looking at creative ways to maintain community. We have created a Pandemic Task Force, consisting of Kim Ray, Beth Calvert, Wanda Earp, Larry Livengood & Dana York to lead this innovation.
It is toward this goal that we are asking each adult to complete this 10 question COVID-19 Survey by July 31. We know many people are not fond of surveys, but right now this is the best way for us to hear your thoughts and preferences. Your feedback will provide vital emphasis for the Minister and Board as we continue to work our way through these uncharted waters.
This survey does not and cannot address every concern. Please do not feel pressured to say you want to participate in activities that make you uncomfortable. The undisputed safest option is to continue gathering with us online only. We want your honest answers about what we should try to offer. This is in no way an all-or-none proposition.
We will continue to be in conversation about best practices as circumstances change. Please know that if infection rates increase in our area, we may suspend in-person activities again. We say this with the comfort of knowing that our online service will continue as we seek to improve and adapt to changing circumstances.
Thank you for answering the survey by July 31. Please be in touch with any questions or concerns. [office@hvuuc.org or thinktank@hvuuc.org]
Sincerely,
Dana York, President
Rev. Jeff Briere, Minister
