Dear ones,
The Religious Education has collaborated with generous volunteers to get kids' summer RE up and running in a safe and distanced environment. Now we would like to encourage our adults to find a way to get engaged virtually!
What could this look like?
Our members and friends in Adult RE 1 can virtually resume viewing and discussion of Great Courses! This could be done via Zoom by one person screen sharing the session with the rest of the attendees. Once the video is done, the person can stop screen sharing and participants can discuss it just as they usually would! If the Great Courses curriculum is on a DVD, the person screen sharing will have to have a computer that can play DVDs.
Our members and friends in Adult RE 2 can resume viewing and discussion of The Good Place! This could be done via Zoom by one person screen sharing an episode from Netflix with the rest of the group. Once the video is done, the person can stop screen sharing and participants can discuss it just as they usually would!
If you are interested in getting adult RE 1 or 2 going again:
Communicate with your fellow REers.
If you have any questions about how to use Zoom this way, there are lots of online tutorials and you can also email HVUUC's Zoom folks at HVUUCcomm@gmail.com.
Check the online church calendar for availability. Other Zoom meetings should be bright blue. (https://localendar.com/public/hvuuchurch)
Choose a day and time. Remember that RE does NOT have to happen on a Sunday! Please make sure whatever day/time you choose is at least half an hour away from any other Zoom meeting.
Email HVUUCcomm@gmail.com with the following information--every item is required:
Meeting Title
Name of Group Requesting
Group Contact Name
Group Contact Email
Group Contact Phone Number
Meeting Date (verify this time is available on the calendar)
Meeting Start Time (make sure there are 30 minutes between meetings)
Meeting Duration
The CommSquad will create a secure Zoom meeting with registration since the program will be publicized on the website.
The CommSquad will send the Zoom meeting registration link to the person who requested the class time as well as me so I can post it on the website to spread the word.
As a safety precaution, participants will need to register in advance in order to receive the actual Zoom link.
