On Sunday August 2nd, we will be blessing backpacks, notebooks, or favorite school supplies for both our Students and Teachers for the beginning of the school year. They will be blessed by the congregation during our August 2nd worship service, to celebrate our interdependence and send all our good energies to school with our students. Bring your backpack to church on August 2nd!

This Easter Sunday Rev. Tiffany and Alesha Chaffin explore the different ways we Unitarian Universalists relate to Jesus and the symbolism connected to Christian belief and practice.
On 08/19/2025, the Board appointed a special task force to review policy around those who are survivors of domestic abuse. At a special Board meeting on 01/06/2026, the Safe Here Task Force reported back to the board with; a letter, a statement of conscience, a proposed Abuse Response Policy, appendices, and a proposed charge if the Board determined to create the suggested Survivor Care Collaborative. The Board reviewed the documents over the next two months, consulting with the UUA and an attorney. In an Executive Session at the Boardβs meeting on 03/17/2026, the Board voted unanimously to move forward in the following ways to address concerns of survivors and those who are close to survivors, security, and covenantal living:

HVUUC will hold its Annual Meeting on Sunday, April 26th at 12:30 in the church sanctuary at 12:30. All members are encouraged to attend to vote on the proposed slate of officers for 2026-2027, as well as the proposed budget and other church business. Childcare will be provided.

In the beauty and complexity of this world, no two brains are alike. The Neurodiversity alliance estimates that 15 to 20% of the population is neurodiverse whether they have ADHD, are Autistic, are Dyslexic, or some other unique way of looking at the world. This Sunday Rev. Tiffany explores the Neurodiverse Universe that we live in, and takes a look at how our community is stronger and better because of the neurodiversity within our congregation.
Please check the calendar beside the coffee urn in the fellowship hall. There are several Sundays where coffee hour volunteers are needed. If you would like to "learn the ropes" of volunteering, please email coffeehour@hvuuc.org. Your friends will be ever so grateful!
We all want to make a difference in this world, but sometimes our narrow vision of what "counts" as activism or social change can limit and paralyze us. This Sunday Rev. Tiffany explores the many ways we can make a difference, with the help of a book that all the Unitarian Universalists are reading this year: Social Change Now by Deepa Ayerβ¦
The Memorial Reception Committee is in need of food donations for the reception for Ray Hatch on Sunday March 29.
Finger foods and sandwiches are ideal! If you need something warmed in the oven we can do that as well. All donations can be dropped off in the church kitchen on March 29th.
